A Rose-Innes Biography
Henrietta Rose-Innes is a fiction writer based in Cape Town. She has published two novels, and her short stories have appeared locally and internationally, receiving the 2008 Caine Prize for African Writing and the 2007 Southern African PEN Literary Award. Her writing has been translated into Arabic, German and Romanian.
She was a Fellow in Literature at the Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart in 2007-8, and has held residencies at the Chateau de Lavigny, Lausanne (2004), the kunst:raum sylt quelle, Sylt (2006) and the University of Georgetown, Washington DC (2009). Henrietta Rose-Innes has also been a writer in residence in the University of Cape Town’s Creative Writing Centre, and supervises students in the UCT Creative Writing MA course.
